What is IMAP Backup & Archiver?

IMAP Backup & Archiver is an innovative new email backup system which reliably and securely backs up IMAP email accounts to the cloud using Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Some of the IMAP Backup & Archiver features include:

1. IMAP Backup & Archiver is an independent email backup platform and performs off-site email backups to the cloud (will backup email accounts hosted by any email hosting provider.)
2. Offers seamless integration with your email accounts hosted by Simplicato and requires no intervention in order to backup your accounts.
3. Allows managing accounts and restoration of backups through an easy to use web interface anytime and from anywhere. Management of accounts and restorations of backups can be accomplished by individual users or IT personnel.
4. Includes 30 daily backup snapshots allowing you to restore your mailbox content as they were anytime for the past 1 month.
5. Includes complementary 1 year email archiving retention.
6. The archiving tool allows you to search, view and restore a specific email by subject, date, sender and/or recipient.

IMAP Backup & Archiver FAQ:

1. Are all my Simplicato email hosting accounts backed up using IMAP Backup & Archiver?

• Yes. All active email accounts within our system are backed up daily. Please note that if there are no emails in the account when the backup system is executed, no backup will be created.
• If you are using POP3 and remove emails from the server when they are downloaded, please see below.

2. Can I use IMAP Backup & Archiver to backup email accounts I have with other email hosting providers?

• Yes. IMAP Backup & Archiver will backup IMAP email accounts hosted by Simplicato or by any other email hosting provider.

3. How much does it cost?

• Simplicato email hosting customers receive IMAP Backup & Archiver for all of their accounts at no additional cost.
• For non Simplicato hosted emails, there is a 3 Month Free Trial and a limited time promotional price. See http://www.imapbackup.com for more information.

4. Does IMAP Backup & Archiver backup POP3 accounts?

• There are 3 options for backing up email accounts setup as POP3 in your email program.
  • The account profile in your email program can be modified to leave a copy of emails on the server for 3 days before they are deleted. Please note that only "received" messages will be backed up for POP3 accounts as the "sent" messages are never placed on the email server.
  • Our full featured archiving product iMessage Archiver may be utilized to backup all sent and received messages. Please contact our Sales Department for more information on this option.
  • POP3 account profiles may be converted to IMAP so that sent and received messages are stored on the email servers and would be backed up by IMAP Backup & Archiver.

2. Click the "Login" link at the top of the page
3. Please click the: Forgot Password link
4. Login info for Administrator and End User account:

• For Admin accounts, please enter your domain name - instructions will be sent to the Owner contact in myAccount.
• For End Users, please enter the email address for the end user. A password reset link will be sent to this email address.

5. After resetting the password, please log into the account.
